Testosterone patches...

A testosterone patch is just one of the many methods of therapy that is available to treat a low testosterone level.

These patches have been dubbed the "woman's answer to Viagra" and have been shown in some studies to increase libido for people who are in need of a little extra boost.

This method of therapy has been shown to be effective in both men and women.

For men, testosterone patches can be used if they have been diagnosed with a low level of the hormone. The patch is used on a daily basis and can be placed directly on the scrotum or on any other part of the body.

This method has been shown to deliver excellent results to men in need of a testosterone boost.

But suprisingly it's not just men who are the ones interested to buy testosterone patches. Women partcipating in studies have discovered that these patches are a great way to rev up a slow sex life.

Women who use a testosterone patch have been shown in studies to experience an in increase sexual desire.

Testosterone Skin Patch Manufacturer

But it isn't all rosy news for the patch. An FDA advisory panel refused approval of a testosterone skin patch to treat low libido in women.

The FDA panel voted unanimously that the testosterone skin patch manufacturer Procter & Gamble, which makes the patch Intrinsa, did not have sufficient data to show that long term exposure to its patch was safe.

On the other hand, some studies have shown that women who use testosterone patches are having sex four times more often than they did before they started the treatment.

Most people are not familiar with a woman using a testosterone patch because testosterone is not usually thought of as a female hormone; but this is not true.

Women produce a small amount of the hormone, and need it in order to maintain a healthy sex drive just like men do.

Being that the woman's body produces so little testosterone in the first place, any drop in levels can significantly hinder their desire to have sex.

Even if you are a man, before you buy testosterone patches, carefully discuss it with your doctor.

A recent study looked at the effect of the testosterone patch on 549 menopausal women that were suffering from a decreased sexual desire.

It is important to note that the women in this study were also taking estrogen pill in addition to the use of the patch for testosterone boosting.

Half of the subjects were administered testosterone patches, whereas the other half were supplied with placebo patches. The patches were replaced two times a week during the study which lasted six months.

The results were measured at the end of the study by measuring sexual activity and desire in the women.

The results showed that the women who wore the testosterone patch had a significant increase in sexual activity.

In more detail, the women who were administered the patches reported that they had four times as many sexual activities than they did before they started the treatment.

Testosterone patches have been shown to be an effective way to treat both men and women with low levels of the hormone.

Even though the testosterone skin patch treatment is used right now exclusively by men, it may one day be a very effective way to increase sexual desire in women.

At this time, the testosterone patch has not been approved by the FDA for use by women who are looking to treat low sexual desire so don't get your hopes up yet if you are a woman. The study mentioned above was a clinical trial.

Scientists are currently researching whether or not testosterone patches are an effective and safe way for women to treat low sexual desire.

So, if you're a woman, keep your eyes peeled for a quality testosterone skin patch manufacturer in the future as various companies try to bring safe and effective products to market.

Even for men, side effects of the testosterone skin patch can include: acne, memory loss, depression, enduring and frequent erections, testicular problems and much more.

Make sure you discuss these side effects with your physician carefully.

In the meantime, both men and women are going the natural testosterone boosting route by using supplements that do not directly contain testosterone but may help the body naturally produce more of its own.

These have the advantage of not upsetting the body's natural balance of hormones and not creating nearly the same potential level of side effects as testosterone patches can.
